Schwenker is a family business rich in tradition. The current management is the second generation of family leadership. The company has expanded steadily over the past couple of years.

  • historie 1952The beginning of the Wilhelm Schwenker GmbH & Co. KG dates back to the years of the German “Economic Miracle” with the opening of a specialty store for motorcycle spare parts and apparel on January 4, 1952 Wilhelm Schwenker laid the foundation for a rapid development that transferred Schwenker into a national and international wholesaler.
  • historie 1964Schwenker started its wholesale activities in the automotive parts division. Success in business, coupled with a continuing expansion of product range, sales, and employees, made the move to a more spacious building necessary. The company moved into a modern building at Porta Strasse.
  • historie 1972The current company premises of 17,000 square meters was acquired and built on in several stages. Despite expansion of the building at Porta Strasse in the years 1967 and 1970, this building became too small for the prosperous and growing company.
  • historie 1973Schwenker steps up from nationwide provider to export company. Today, companies in the EU and the remaining EFTA countries, as well as Baltic States and Poland belong to the customer base, but the main focus lays on Scandinavia, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxemburg.
  • historie 1995The company structure is designed with customer focus in mind. With the introduction of a quality management system, the commercial vehicles division becomes independent. The following corporate divisions have their own product assortment, purchasing department, calculation, and their own sales team: Passenger Cars, Export, Workshop equipment.

  • historie 2002neuSchwenker celebrates its 50th anniversary, and uses this occasion to hold the first Schwenker Show at the Kampa-Halle in Minden.

    The GVO 1400/2002 becomes effective and improves the ability for authorized workshops to purchase genuine spare parts or parts of matching quality from an independent wholesale.

    Schwenker adapts its website to the professional image. Detailed and current information in a modern design about Schwenker should provide the customers with the best service.
  • historie 2004Dr. Friederike Schwenker and Dierk Schwenker become Chief Executive Officers (CEO) at the Wilhelm Schwenker GmbH & Co. KG. Thus, succession is successfully implemented.
  • historie 2012Schwenker celebrates its 60th birthday. Symbol for this particular event is an anniversary Beetle; Schwenker employees affectionately named it "Willi Vintage". Also, the Beetle symbolizes dependability and continuity.
    Schwenker celebrated this special occasion with employees, customers, and other business partners at the Schwenker Show 2012, taking place at the Kampa-Halle in Minden.

  • FS Scheiber2350The Schwenker mangement board has been reorganized. Marcus Scheiber takes over the management of sales, procurement, logistics, and IT. Dierk Schwenker leaves the board, but remains partner of Wilhelm Schwenker GmbH & Co KG. Managing partner Dr. Friederike Schwenker ist responsible for administrative accounting, human resources, quality management, and marketing.
